Amazon cuts ties with eu distributors to buy directly from brands/manufacturers
In the process of increasing marginal costs across the company and keeping prices low for the customers, Amazon plans to cut ties with distributors in Europe who act as middlemen between Amazon & retail brands, by buying inventory from the manufacturer and selling it to Amazon. Distributors can still participate in the Amazon marketplace by becoming third-party sellers.
As a result, Amazon is in a position of increased power in its dealings with manufacturers who wish to sell their wares on the site, including increased say over pricing and availability. Amazon will wait until April to make the switch.
If you are one of those Distributors or know of anyone else who is facing a similar problem, we could help in transitioning them from their existing Vendor Central Account to Seller Central. Apart from setting them up on Seller Central we could strategize the way forward for them on Seller Central through our in-house marketing and sales team.
